Recipe: Chili with 5-C Smokehouse Pinto Seasoning

Sure, here's a chili recipe using 5-C Smokehouses Pinto Bean Seasoning:

Ingredients:

- 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner option)

- 1 medium onion, diced

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 bell pepper, diced (any color you prefer)

- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes

- 1 can (14.5 ounces) tomato sauce

- 2 cans (15 ounces each) pinto beans, drained and rinsed

- 2 tablespoons 5-C Smokehouses Pinto Bean Seasoning (adjust to taste)

- 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 1 cup beef or vegetable broth

- Olive oil for cooking

- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, diced avocado, and tortilla chips

Instructions:

1. Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil and the diced onion. Cook until the onion becomes translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

2. Add the ground beef (or turkey) to the pot and break it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, breaking it into smaller pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

3. Stir in the minced garlic and diced bell pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the bell pepper starts to soften.

4. Add the diced tomatoes (with their juice), tomato sauce, and drained pinto beans to the pot. Stir to combine.

5. Sprinkle the 5-C Smokehouses Pinto Bean Seasoning and chili powder over the mixture. Adjust the seasoning to your taste preference. You can start with 2 tablespoons of the seasoning and add more if needed.

6. Pour in the beef or vegetable broth to thin the chili and create the desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

7. Bring the chili to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

8. Taste the chili and adjust the seasoning if necessary. If you prefer a spicier chili, you can add more chili powder or hot sauce.

9. Serve the chili hot in bowls. You can top it with shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, chopped green onions, diced avocado, or crushed tortilla chips for added flavor and texture.

Enjoy your delicious homemade chili with the smoky goodness of 5-C Smokehouses Pinto Bean Seasoning!
